According to a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday, the PDP Board headed by the deputy national chairman said the stepping down of Ayu as the National chairman of the PDP is with immediate effect as it would give the party a face of equity and fairness.
Before now, A high court sitting in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, has granted an ex-parte application restraining Senator Iyorchia Ayu from parading himself as the National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
The application brought before the court by Engr Conrad Terhide Utaan sought Ayu to step aside honourably because he wasn’t able to lead the party to victory and allow the party to move on without him.
