A Chinese man, Frank Geng Quarong has admitted before a Kano State High Court to killing his Nigerian lover, Ummukulsum Sani, with a knife.
Forty-seven-year-old Mr Quanrong is standing trial for the murder of his ex-girlfriend who he reportedly followed to her family house in Kano, forced himself into her room and stabbed her to death.
Under cross-examination at the resumed hearing on Wednesday, the defendant told the court that he had stabbed Ummukulsum with a knife, leading to her death.
According to the defendant, he had arrived Nigeria in 2019 and began working with BBY Textile Company, earning N1.5 million per month.
Defence counsel, Muhammad Balarabe Dan’azumi, thereafter told the court that his team would be presenting a young girl as their last witness in the next sitting.
Justice Sunusi Ado Ma’aji then adjourned the sitting until Thursday, March 30.
