
The leadership of the 10th National Assembly has been zoned by the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Working Committee (NWC). This decision was announced after a meeting with President-elect Ahmed Bola Tinubu and party stakeholders on Monday. The NWC called for further consultation with party members to garner support for its chosen aspirants.
According to a statement released by the Party Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, and available on Twitter, the zoning arrangement is as follows: Senator Godswill Akpabio (Akwa-Ibom) has been zoned as Senate President for the South-South region, while Senator Barau Jubrin has been zoned as Deputy Senate President for the North-West region. Abass Tajudeen (Kaduna) has been zoned as Speaker of the House of Representatives for the North-West region, and Ben Kalau (Abia) has been zoned as Deputy Speaker for the South-East region.
The APC has called on its members and Nigerians to continue to work towards the peace and progress of the country, both during and after the leadership transition period
