Mr Blessing Agbebaku, member representing Owan West state Constituency, has been elected speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly.
His election followed a motion moved to that effect by member representing Eghor State Constituency, Ms Natasha Osawaru.
Also, the member representing Esan North East II, Mrs Maria Edekor emerged as the deputy speaker.
They were the sole candidates for the positions.
After the speaker and his deputy were sworn in, Mr Agbebaku administered oath of office on other members of the House.
