Barcelona has confirmed the signing of Ilkay Gundogan on a two-year contract from Manchester City with an option for a 12-month extension with a release clause of €400 million.
The 32-year-old German midfielder has left Man City after playing 304 games and scoring 60 goals since 2016 when he joined the club and captaining the team to the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League treble last season.
Gundogan has won 14 trophies, including five League titles during his time with Man City and has helped the club to win its first ever Champions League this season.
He said Man City has made him realize his dream and he’ll be forever grateful for the opportunity to represent the Cityzens.
Barcelona has commended him for his nose for goal and reading of the game which made him one of the best midfielders of the past decade.
