The House of Representatives has urged the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board JAMB, to allow its result valid for at least three years.
The House also called on JAMB to conduct the entry exams at least twice annually.
The resolutions were reached sequel to the adoption of a motion by a member from Ekiti State, Mr Akintunde Rotimi, at plenary.
Mr Rotimi expressed concern that JAMB result is only valid for one year, saying if candidates does not secure admission into tertiary institution in the academic year the exam was taken, the result becomes invalid.
According to him, there is a backlog of candidates waiting to secure admission, with its attendant pressure on the education system and parents.
Ruling on the motion, the Speaker Dr Tajudeen Abbas, said an adhoc committee would be constituted to interface with the federal ministry of education to ensure compliance with the resolutions.
