
The National Senior Secondary Education Commission (NSSEC) ln Bauchi State, is engaging relevant stakeholders on the implementation of minimum standards document for Senior Secondary Education across the nineteen northern states In Nigeria.
At the opening of the workshop, the Executive Secretary of the Commission, Dr. Iyela Ajayi explained that the bill for the establishment of the commission was enacted in May 2023, to manage NSSEC fund and other related matter.
The Workshop which attracted officials from the commission’s head office Abuja, Directors of Education from across the three northern geopolitical zones and representatives of All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools ANCOPSS was meant to discuss the proposed policy frame work for effective implementation.
The exercise is expected to enhance the participants skills to come up with a unified and acceptable document aimed at setting the required standards in Senior Secondary Education Sub-sector for effective service delivery.
He charged the participants to make fruitful contributions towards achieving the desired objectives OF THE WORKSHOP.
The participants, expressed optimism that the program would contribute significantly in changing the narrative of education system in the country.
They emphasized the need to incorporate States Ministries of Education in the implementation process.
