The timely broadcast of Tinubu, acknowledging no Ill winds but rather admit to solidarity of democracy for losing Lagos state Presidential polls to his oppositions amidst collection of result, was the moment I gave a standing ovation and applauds for the Tinubu campaign team.
President Bola Tinubu whom had portray himself to be like a maverick character in the 1812 playbook Oliver-Twist for wanting more has seemingly proven, and is working tirelessly round the clock in his just kicked off adminstration, and within the last 50 days not only successfully playing the cards of Oliver Twist, but also the biblical character of Saul who in the quest of wanting more, became more and is doing everything in his power to giving more.
One universal fact that must be duly acknowledged by all, is that no time can be a better time to give one their flowers or throw aspersions on them if their ever display their shortcomings. For it seem in the dawn of every new day, there is higher possibility that the impression we once had about a person we immensely hated or admire can change in the jiffy.
This in relation to our able President, His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, is one for me I think has tarried for too long. As i have long had it in mind to making a piece about his unconventional personality even long before the inauguration ceremony were he seemingly gave us a gbas gbos of a lifetime that has got us all standing with both ten toes till date. The more I had postpone about writing a contrasting opinion piece between his character and performance, the more there become a lot of other additional events and feats that the president adds to his already robust profile. So here I am combining what we should know about his character as a person and also assessing his first fifty days as President.
The timely broadcast of Tinubu, acknowledging no I’ll winds but rather admit to solidarity of democracy for losing Lagos state Presidential polls to his oppositions amidst collection of result, was the moment I gave a standing ovation and applauds for the Tinubu campaign team, most especially his PR for the good job done. If we are being honest here we all can agree that the move of a broadcast amidst collection of vote was a superb move by the crew and just the perfect timing. One I feel must be reckoned in the Nigeria political chessboard for ages.
It’s our excellency’s first 50 days in office, although it’s nothing compare to what lies ahead of him, but it’s necessary these steps be recognized, especially given to the fact that President Bola Tinubu has done so much already in the aspect of changes within and outside the country’s political, socio-economical trajectory, and also in his own already stout political image within the last 50 days.
President Tinubu even before he assumed office has been successful to cause a lot of national and international stir to his unorthodox political personality. An effect which first all started by the induction of the ‘Emilokan’ slogan, to a Muslim-Muslim ticket, to eventually becoming President of the federation, to removal of fuel subsidy, to the signing of the Electricity Bill, to signing the Students Loan Bill into law, to the unification of foreign exchange rates, and doing most on interaction with the people even though during the campaign season he was notion to hate TownHall debates. But today, the president has been a major interlocutor – holding forums with traditional rulers and governors across the 36 states- clearing individual party differences and encouraging a jointly focus on alleviating the sufferings and pains of Nigerians.
This length he has also gone in negotiating with Health workers, and settling a workable agreement with Nigeria Labour congress (NLC) is also impressive.
Also, in assenting to bill on new retirement age for judicial officers. All these has he seamlessly achieved within the past 50 days in office even with what some have termed his most striking move, of earlier suspending Emefiele as CBN governor and Bawa As EFCC Chairman.
It’s not debatable that there is hardship in the nation of which the president also made it a point of concern to declare state of emergency on food security. This, according to the president has propelled a plan both in the long term and In the immediate term, which in the immediate term, is to deploy some savings from the fuel subsidy removal into the Agricultural sector focusing on revamping the agricultural sector.
All these has he done, which a number of Nigerians who from onset that was aghast of his supposedly emerging president in the just concluded 2033 general elections are now softly shielding swords, despite that there are still a-lot of tribunal cases still in subjection to his victory, but this regardless, a lot of Nigerians watch in keen hope and anticipation that he may likely be what we had needed as a leader as a country. As he may mean well for us, even despite the alleged controversial victory in the 2023 Presidential general polls.
Already it’s been alleged that President Tinubu’s fifty days in office has surpassed three years of the previous administration in terms of governance.
As from all indications of decisions and appointment thus far, it has comprised indigenes from all regions of the country. And the appointment comprising the national security adviser, service chiefs, the inspector general of police and others made that prevalent statement that Tinubu is actually for everyone unlike his predecessor who had said he is for ‘everyone and for no one’ and truly lived to the prove that he wasn’t for the interest of Nigerians.
Bola Tinubu is an astute administrator with an enviable track record in governance and leadership. A thorough bred politician, perhaps the S.I unit of resilience, the champion of modern democracy, the greatest political strategist of our time! The man that is alleged to removed a president, installed a president and became a president! No one in the world may have achieved this record. In being president, and chairman of ECOWAS a lot is expected from him and from Nigeria now more than ever in the history of the country among its peers in Africa. As Nigerians we can only be filled with optimism and hope for what lies ahead with a leader like President Tinubu, in the coming days and even years if God willing. An optimism We are that he will be able to tackle issues head-on and implement policies that will facilitate the ease of doing business within the region.
