
The Acting Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun has presented the cheques of over N7 million to the 14 families of the officers who died in active service in Zamfara state.
The Public Relation Officer of Zamfara Command, ASP Yazeed Abubakar made this known to Newsmen in Gusau, the state capital.
The IGP represented by the Zamfara Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Bunu appealed to the families of the deceased officers to use the money judiciously.
The cheques issued were part of the Group Personal Accident and IGP family welfare insurance schemes of the Force.
Two of the beneficiaries, Ms Mosunmola Apata and Mr Ayuba Bassi thanked the Acting IGP and the state police command for the support and also assured of the judicious use of the money.
