
President Bola Tinubu says that his administration will offer an enabling framework for effective Diaspora policies to galvanize support for the new administration and establish a positive example for other African countries to follow.
He made the remarks in Abuja on the occasion of this year’s National Diaspora Day.
President Tinubu, who was represented by the President’s Chief of Staff, Mr Femi Gbajabiamila, assured the Diaspora that his administration would look into the challenges impeding the operational efficiency of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission NiDCOM for the benefit of the Diaspora for national development.
President Tinubu also lauded the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) for its dynamic engagements with the Diaspora community especially in coming up with laudable programmes for them to invest at home.
The Chairman Nigerians In Diaspora Commission NiDCOM, Mrs Abike Dabiri-Erewa urged the Federal government to support and conclude the setting up of the Nigeria Diaspora Investment Fund as an investment window for the Diaspora.
The National Diaspora Day Celebrations prescribed by the National Diaspora Policy is set aside to recognize, acknowledge and celebrate over 17 million Nigerians in the Diaspora who have contributed immensely to national development.
