Mr. Jessy Arung, a philanthropist, has promised to take on the academic responsibilities of Blessing Reuben, a ten-year-old orphan whose parents went missing over two years ago due to bandit attacks in Zango Kataf Local Government Area (LGA) of Kaduna State.
The promise was made during a donation ceremony where Mr. Arung presented building materials, donated by the Child is Gold Foundation, to the community.
Moved by Blessing’s story of loss and her dream of becoming a lawyer, a profession shared by Mr. Arung, the philanthropist took it upon himself to support her academic pursuits and help her achieve her aspirations.
The community in Zango Kataf LGA witnessed attacks and counter-attacks by bandits leading to loss of lives and property.
Gora Benjamin Joshua, who represented the District Head of the Community, expressed his gratitude for Mr. Arung’s gesture. He acknowledged the importance of community development, emphasising that it was impossible to progress in a society embroiled in constant strife and turmoil.
“By providing academic support to Blessing Reuben and aiding the community with vital building materials, Mr. Arung has set an example of the positive impact individuals can have in rebuilding shattered lives and communities”, Mr Josha said.
