Chelsea on Friday signed France international centre back Axel Disasi on a six-year contract.
The 25-year-old, who will join the Stamford Bridge side in a deal worth 45 million euros ($49.23 million), has won four caps for the national team and has made 130 appearances in the French top flight.
Chelsea co-sporting Directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley said Axel has showcased his quality over several seasons in France and that has deservedly led to recognition on the international stage.
Chelsea new manager, Mauricio Pochettino is overhauling his squad following the club’s worst Premier League season in almost 30 years.
They open their new campaign at home to Liverpool on August 13.
