A huge fire that broke out in a high-rise apartment block in Hanoi Vietnam’s capital has left at least eight people dead and dozens injured.
It’s estimated that there are 150 people living in the apartment complex overall.
According to the state media about 70 people had been rescued from the nine-storey building, with dozens taken to hospital.
Rescue efforts are still on despite the fact that the fire, which started during the night, has been put out.
Eye witnesses described hearing a loud bang at around 2300 local time, and then seeing black smoke rising through the building.
Authorities in Hanoi say many newly-built apartments do not meet fire safety regulations.
