Both teams brought their best but left Scotland disappointed as England won 3-1 with goals from Phil Foden, Jude Bellingham, and Harry Kane at Glasgow’s Hampden Park.
In the first half, England dominated, scoring twice, leaving the Tartan Army silenced.
Through an own goal by Harry Maguire, Scotland gave its own, but England’s Harry Kane scored the third with less than 10 minutes remaining.
Both teams first met on the pitch in November 1872 at Hamilton Crescent in Glasgow before an audience of 4,000. Which ended in a 0-0 draw.
