The Delta State Primary Health Care Development Agency, DSPHCDA, in collaboration with the World Health Organisation, WHO, United Nations Children’s Fund, UNICEF, and other partners have kicked off the 2024 integrated measles vaccination exercise in Delta State.
According to the Executive Director of The Delta State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Paul Yinkore, the exercise which commenced on Saturday, 12th of October, is expected to end on the 19th of October 2024.
Dr. Yinkore further harped on the need for parents and guardians to take advantage of the ongoing immunization exercise by taking their wards between the ages of 9months to 59months to the different immunization centers closest to them, as vaccinators were spread all over the 25 LGAs to immunize children against measles related deaths.
The integrated measles vaccination is expected to run concurrently with other routine immunization vaccinations like polio, HPV, yellow fever and others,he further stressed.
