
Political leaders and PDP faithful in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State have passed a vote of confidence on Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for delivering on his campaign promises of providing socioeconomic and infrastructural development to Deltans as encapsulated in his M. O. R. E. Agenda.
The vote of confidence which was moved by Hon.Godwin Abigor and seconded by Chief Vincent Okudolor, was put to a vote by Hon Austin Uroye, member representing Warri South 1 of the Delta House of Assembly.
The event took place at King George Hall Warri on Friday 2nd November 2024 when the Senior Political Adviser to the Governor, Senator Emmanuel Aguariavwodo, visited Warri Council Area in continuation of his town hall meetings with political appointees and PDP faithful in the 25 local government areas of the state
Aguariavwodo, at this town hall meeting, reaffirmed the desire of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to remain focused and unwavering in his development of the entire State particularly of Warri South, which is considered as the driving impulse of Delta State.
According to the Senior Political Adviser, the Governor was unequivocal when, in his inaugural address to Deltans, declared that he would “pay special attention to Warri,” adding that the developmental stride Warri South and its immediate environ are witnessing today is the manifestation of that promise made by the Governor.
The SPOLAD said as a product of the axis, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is well grounded with the people and their needs and will provide infrastructure that will continue to grow Warri and accommodate everyone stressing that Warri South will witness more structures and more appointments in the coming years.
Senator Aguariavwodo said that the People’s Democratic Party PDP was grooming the next generation of leadership in the state, pointing out that Warri South with its array of educated and articulate men and women will play a major role in the new order.
He therefore urged the people to continue to support Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and more especially the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in 2027, stressing that PDP remains the only political party that can solve the problems of Nigeria.
Earlier, Chairman of the PDP in Warri South Local Government Area, Hon Richard Pessu in his presentation paper of the position of Warri South expressed profound appreciation to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for keeping to his campaign promises of repositioning Warri for greater glory and improving the standard of life of the people of Delta State through his M. O. R. E. Agenda.
Pessu, however, articulated the needs of Warri South to include greater recognition and political patronage,particularly in the composition of The Party Executives, appointment into DESOPADEC Board, inclusion of local party members in privileged Ministries as well as the rehabilitation of the OrereUlube Mereje bridge, Igbudu Market Road, Old UCC road, Ekurede Urhobo road, Ekpen / Esisi road.
The meeting, which was well attended, also had Dr. Roland Oritsejafor a former Minister of State for Defence in the last President Olusegun Obasanjo’s administration; Hon Austin Uroye, Member, Delta State House of Assembly; Hon Omimi Esquire; Hon Griftson Omatsuli, Special Adviser on Niger Delta among other top government dignitaries and political bigwigs with the Council Chairman Hon Comrade Agbateyinri Weyimi Isaac as chief host.
