
The Governor of Delta State, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori has called on Deltans to ‘FEAR NOT’ in their unquestionable faith and conviction to support the People’s Democratic Party PDP and the government of Delta State come 2027.
The Governor spoke through his Senior Political Adviser, Senator Emmanuel Aguariavwodo, Wednesday, in continuation of his town hall meeting with political appointees and stalwarts of the PDP in Sapele Local Government Area of the State.
According to Senator Aguariavwodo, the PDP is the only political party with proven integrity and ability to move the nation away from the political and economic downturn currently facing Nigerians.
He commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for displaying astute management of human and material resources in running the affairs of the state which is manifestly delivering on economic growth, infrastructure development, peace, security and stability in the society.
The Senior Political Adviser decried the deplorable socioeconomic condition prevalent in the society today, adding that the opposition party at the helm of affairs in Nigeria has exhibited total ineptitude and poor administrative and penurious economic policies that have resulted in hunger and starvation across the country.
Senator Aguariavwodo thereafter appealed to party leaders to accommodate the women and youth in party administration and activities to breed cohesion and unity that will further strengthen the PDP.
Aguariavwodo assured the people of Sapele Local Government Area of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s commitment to developing Delta State in general and that Sapele Council Area would continue to enjoy both political patronage, accelerated growth and infrastructural development in the times ahead.
He called on PDP leaders and party faithful to protect and guide the party jealously, adding that the party Excos at the ward levels, the councillors, elected members and party leaders are the true owners of PDP and must support and lead the party to victory both at the State and National elections come 2027.
Earlier, Chairman of the PDP in Sapele Local Government Area, Hon Francis Okpigben and all who spoke at the ceremony expressed appreciation to Governor Oborevwori for the political appointments to the people of Sapele local governmental area and the tremendous infrastructural work he is executing in thecouncil area.
Thereafter the Member representing Sapele in the State House of Assembly Hon Perkins Umukoro moved for a vote of confidence on the Governor. It was seconded by Hon Austin Ayemidejor and put to a vote by Hon Francis Okpigben and unilaterally adopted by the house.
They however appealed to the Governor for more political appointments, the construction and rehabilitation of more roads in the council area particularly the abandoned Ituru Road, Ibada Amukpe road, Ugbimidaka – Okvoke road, Adagbrassa Amukpe road and the Tani – Etamua Uguanja road.
Similarly, on his visit to Warri North Local Government Area, the Senior Political Adviser to the Governor Senator Emmanuel Aguariavwodo commended the leadership of the party for their unwavering support and steadfastness to the ideals of the PDP.
The SPOLAD particularly extolled the virtues of Chief Solomon Areyenka for emerging the State Chairman of PDP adding that his commitment and dedication to the party over the years stood him out for greatness.
Aguariavwodo noted that Warri North is strategic to the State and the council would continue to enjoy government patronage and infrastructural development. He enjoined the people to continue to support the PDP as that is the only way two keep the party in power to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people.
In his remarks, Chairman of the council, Hon FestusAshima expressed appreciation to the Governor for his developmental works in the State and Warri North. He specially thanked Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for the emergence of Areyenka as State Chairman of PDP,stressing that it would further invigorate parry faithfulin Warri Council to win more elections in the Council Area.
The State PDP Chairman Chief Solomon Areyenka expressed profound appreciation to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and said that PDP has never lost any elections in the council area, promising that they will work more to give the party total victory in subsequent elections.
In attendance at the town hall meeting in Warri North included foremost leaders in Warri North: Chief Hon Michael Diden aka Ejele, Chief Lucky Tiemo leader of the ijaws in Warri North, Hon Fred Martins, Member Representing the Local Government Area in the State House of Assembly, Bishop Godwin Soroghose,amongst others.
