
Delta Broadcasting Service (DRTV) Warri, under the auspices of the Ministry of Information, Delta State Government, in a prestigious award ceremony, honoured individuals who have demonstrated outstanding public service and community contributions. Among the distinguished awardees were Dame Dr. Veronica Ajuebo and Chief Francis Okumagba, both of whom have made remarkable impacts in education and wealth creation, respectively.
Dr. Ajuebo, an esteemed educationist and director of Dick & Alice Schools in Port Harcourt and the newly opened branch in Warri, was recognized for her dedication to advancing education and her commitment to empowering future generations. She holds the title of ‘Ogheremo’ of Okere Urhobo, Warri, a testament to her leadership within the Okere Urhobo Kingdom. Under her stewardship, Dick & Alice Schools have become a beacon of excellence in the region, shaping the minds of countless students.
Chief Francis Okumagba, a prominent wealth creation expert, was celebrated for his significant role in empowering individuals through financial literacy and entrepreneurship. As the ‘Aghwotu’ of Okere–Urhobo Kingdom, Warri, Chief Okumagba has been instrumental in mentoring thousands through his lectures, seminars, and workshops on wealth creation. His work continues to inspire many to pursue entrepreneurial ventures, regardless of their starting resources. He is also the author of several mentorship books aimed at guiding aspiring entrepreneurs.
The ceremony was graced by a notable guest, Hon. Ifeanyi Osuoza, the Commissioner for Information, Delta State, who attended to support and commend the awardees for their contributions to the growth and development of the state and community.
Both awardees expressed deep gratitude for the recognition and emphasized the importance of continued service to the public. Dr. Ajuebo highlighted the transformative power of education, while Chief Okumagba spoke passionately about the need for financial independence and economic empowerment to foster sustainable development.
