
Health Workers’ Union of Nigeria, Delta State Council, have been urged to prioritize the welfare of members and demonstrate transparent leadership in their duties.
The Medical and Health Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MHWUN), Delta State Council, has concluded its local government chapter elections across the state’s 25 local government areas. The elections were described as peaceful and transparent by the State Chairman, Comrade Okonye Onyemazuwa, in an official statement.
Comrade Onyemazuwa extended his congratulations to all the newly elected officers, urging them to prioritize the welfare of union members and remain committed to the shared goals and objectives of the Union. He emphasized that personal interests must not overshadow the collective progress of the union.
He appealed to those who did not succeed in the elections to set aside pre-election differences and work harmoniously with the newly elected officers to foster unity and progress within the union.
The Chairman also commended the efforts of the 25 local government chairmen and other stakeholders of the Union for their roles in ensuring seamless and successful elections. He praised their dedication to upholding the democratic values of the union and strengthening its operational structure.
Comrade Onyemazuwa, expressed appreciation to Comrade Goodluck Ofobruku, the State NLC Chairman, who is also the Medical and Health Workers’ Union of Nigeria, Deputy National President, for his invaluable support.
The successful conduct of these elections has been viewed as a significant step in reinforcing the Union’s commitment to transparent leadership and the welfare of its members.
