In a significant move to boost the quality of education in Delta State, the wife of the State Governor, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori has flagged off the distribution of instructional materials to public primary and junior secondary schools in the State.
The materials were donated by the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) in collaboration with the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB)
Flagging off the distribution exercise by the Governor’s wife, which included agriculture and sports equipment, as well as three mini buses for monitoring and supervision, as part of the UBEC-SUBEB intervention program aimed at promoting effective teaching and learning, Mrs. Oborevwori said that no child should be left behind in their quest for knowledge through formal education.
While describing education as the cornerstone for development, Mrs. Oborevwori, who was represented by the wife of the Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Mrs. Ify Arthur-Akpowowo, commended the Universal Basic Education Commission, UBEC, for donating the Instructional Materials to Delta State.
Reiterating the commitment of the Delta state government to enhancing quality of teaching and learning in the state’s public institutions, Mrs. Oborevwori emphasized that the State was doing everything within its power to ensure that every child has access to education and necessary tools needed to learn, grow and thrive.
She noted that children are gifts to the society and that their unique abilities deserve to be nurtured and celebrated, even as she disclosed that her “You Matter Foundation” is to ensure that pupils and students have access to quality education and opportunity to realize their full potential.
