
In a significant step toward fostering unity and development, the Chairman of Udu Local Government Council, Hon. Vincent Oyibode, on Tuesday, presented the 2025 fiscal year budget, aptly tagged the “Budget of Unity.” The budget, totaling ₦13.82 billion, was unveiled before the legislative chambers of the local government council in Otor-Udu.
During his presentation, Oyibode emphasized the importance of collaboration, acknowledging the cordial working relationship between the executive, legislative, and other stakeholders. He credited this synergy for the steady progress witnessed across the Udu Local Government Area (LGA).
The ₦13.82 billion budget prioritizes key sectors essential for the well-being of Udu residents. Major allocations include Road Maintenance and Construction Projects; Transportation and Environmental Sanitation; Community Peace Initiatives; Youth Empowerment and Agricultural Development
These initiatives align with the MORE Agenda of Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, which focuses on sustainable development and people-oriented governance.
The budget estimate is structured as follows: Total Expected Revenue: ₦13,823,974,392.87; Federal Allocation: ₦7.69 billion; State Allocation: ₦3.85 billion; Share of VAT: ₦1.12 billion; Excess Crude Fund: ₦806 million; Independent Revenue: ₦350 million
Expenditure: Recurrent Non-Debt Expenditure: ₦7.64 billion Capital Expenditure: ₦6.18 billion
Hon. Oyibode assured the people of Udu LGA that the budget, once approved, will be judiciously implemented to drive socio-economic growth. He also called for the support of stakeholders to improve internal revenue generation and optimize federal allocations.
The “Budget of Unity” signals a new phase of inclusive governance for Udu Local Government, reinforcing the commitment to progress and community development.
