The Chief Adviser to the Governor of Delta State, Senator Ighoyota Amori, on Wednesday received the Delta Volunteer Network at his office in Asaba, where he reaffirmed his commitment to grassroots mobilization and political advancement in the state.
The group, led by its Isoko South coordinator, Ambassador Prince Ogologor paid a courtesy visit to congratulate him on his appointment and to seek his patronage.
In his address, Senator Amori expressed gratitude for the group’s recognition and support, acknowledging their role in promoting the administration’s initiatives at the grassroots level.
“Well, we have worked together for a long time, and many of you have held various positions in this government at both the state and national levels. Politics is an ongoing process, and this office is designed to promote political activities that will take this government to the next level,” he stated.
He emphasized the importance of unity and dedication in sustaining the achievements of the Governor Sheriff Oborevwori-led administration, while also preparing for future political engagements.
“Our collective responsibility is to preserve and defend the party and government. By 2027, we must achieve even greater milestones than we did in the 2023 elections. The governor is doing exceptionally well, and there is visible progress across the state. Projects are being executed in every ward and local government, and appointments are ongoing to ensure inclusive governance. Despite challenges, the government remains focused on delivering on its mandate,” he added.
Earlier, Ambassador Ogologo praised Senator Amori’s contributions to governance, particularly in the education sector during his tenure as Commissioner for Education.
“It was during your tenure as Commissioner for Education in the Ibori administration that private school owners had free access to government books. You have been consistent over the years in your capacity as a statesman and leader in the party, not just a leader but a national figure. From the grassroots, this group is here to say thank you. The governor has done well, and we will be here to assist your office in making sure that the governor’s effort is seen all around the state. We want to use this opportunity to also appeal to you to accept our request to be a father and patron to the Delta Volunteers Network, sir,” Ogologo stated.
The meeting concluded with a goodwill message from the Coordinator of the Delta Central Senatorial District, Mr. Giovanni Emephia, who reaffirmed the group’s unwavering support for Senator Amori and the state administration.
