The Delta State Government has vowed to develop the nooks and crannies of the state. This development will impact on the lives of citizens through the provisions of good roads, functional education, good healthcare services and reduction of poverty in all aspects of the economy.
The Head of Service of Delta State, Dr. Mininim Oseji stated this at a one-day interactive meeting between the State Public Procurement Commission and Permanent Secretaries/Directors of Planning, Research and Statistics/ Heads of Procurement, on implementation of the Delta State 2025 Budget held in Asaba, the state capital.
She explained that to achieve the core objectives of Governor Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda, all accounting offices must be alive to their responsibilities as regards the execution of projects and programmes in line with the Delta State Public Procurement Law of 2020.
The Head of Service noted that for a proper understanding of the procurement process, the State Public Procurement Commission and Permanent Secretaries should ensure that the officers involved in the procurement process must undergo training and retraining to update their knowledge.
She mandated all accounting officers in MDAs to submit their annual procurement plans to the State Public Procurement Commission, detailing the steps and timelines for the procurement of goods, works and services required by their MDA’s.
She further encouraged them to honour all requests from the Delta State Public Procurement Commission to MDAs for clarification within two weeks.
