
Delta State Commissioner, Bureau for Special Duties, Hon. Ejiro Etacherure has conveyed the empathy of the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Dr. Sheriff Oborevwori to the victims of fire disaster Boji-Boji Agbor in Ika South LGA.
The Bureau Commissioner who eulogized the Governor for his kind heartedness towards Deltans, thanked him for his gracious approval and release of funds through the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) for victims who lost lives. properties and means of livelihood at different fire disasters.
“I present to you this financial assistance from the State Government to ameliorate your plight as a result of the unfortunate incident. This is not a compensation for the losses suffered but a way of identifying with you and providing succour from the effects of the disaster,” Etacherure stated.
While noting that the relief presentation is in line with His Excellency’s commitment to the welfare of Deltans through the M.O.R.E Agenda, the Commissioner expressed appreciation to the Governor for providing the necessary platform to ensure that SEMA is able to respond effectively to various disasters across the State.
The Commissioner reiterated that the donation is in tandem with the commitment of the government under Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to support those affected by such disasters and to ensure that necessary relief is provided in times of need, while he described the Governor as a man sent by God to render support to humanity.
Mr. Monday Omoruyi who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Governor for this concern for the welfare of all Deltans, noting that the kind gesture will go a long way in cushioning the effect of the disaster in their livelihoods.
