
Ughelli North Local Government Council, Delta State, received a new Head of Personnel Management (HPM), Mrs. Mary Oforgbor, upon the retirement of the former HPM, Mr. Timothy Ase, after 32years of dedicated service.
In an official handing over ceremony organised by the Council on Monday, the outgoing HPM, Mr. Ase said he joined the Local Government Service Commission in 1993 and was posted to Ughelli North Local Government Council in 2020.
Mr. Ase expressed gratitude to God for good health and the opportunity to render service for the past 32years. He announced his retirement which is as a result of clocking the statutory retirement age of 60.
“By calculation, I have put in 32years of service and I am happy to retire here in Ughelli North,” he said.
He commended the Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government, Barr. Jaro Egbo, for his unique and effective leadership style. He also appreciated members of staff for their support throughout his stewardship in the Local Government Council.
Speaking at the event, the newly deployed HPM, Mrs. Oforgbor said she’s ready to build on the foundation laid by her predecessor, acknowledging the role of the Local Government Service Commission in her deployment.
She appreciated Mr. Ase for his mentorship, recalling that she once served under him as second- in – command.
Mrs. Oforgbor pledged her commitment to work in synergy with the Council Chairman for the betterment of the Local Government Area.
