The Ughelli North Local Government Chairman, Barr. Jaro Egbo has called for unity of purpose and shared vision, stressing the importance of unity in strengthening democracy and its pivotal role in societal development and economic stability.
In a statement made available to newsmen on Thursday to mark the celebration of democracy day in Nigeria, Barr. Egbo stated that democracy is more than just a system of government, it is a way of life.
The Council Boss stated that democracy day celebration in Nigeria should serve as a reminder of the vital role unity and collective effort played in promoting democratic governance and sustainable development in Nigeria.
“As individuals and as a nation bonded by the spirit of national integration, we cannot afford to undermine the sacrifices of our past heroes. Let us continue to nurture and strengthen our democracy by working together to build a brighter future for all.”
Egbo further stated that “as citizens of Nigeria, we are empowered to choose our leaders, hold them accountable and support them to deliver their mandate and finish strong.”
He called on the good people of Ughelli North Local Government Area to foster peace and unity, urging them to remain law-abiding.
