As the world marked Father’s Day on Sunday, the General Overseer of Omega Prophetic Prayer Ministry (OPPM), Amukpe, Sapele, Delta State, Prophet Daniel Ololo, has called on fathers and parents in general to take deliberate steps in building stronger homes, insisting that the strength of any society begins from the home front.
Speaking during the church’s special Father’s Day Thanksgiving Celebration Service, Prophet Ololo emphasized the critical role fathers play in shaping not just their families, but the moral and social fabric of the nation.
“As we celebrate Father’s Day, we need to reflect deeply on the roles of fathers. Fathers are not just figureheads—they are builders of homes, and by extension, society. If we want a better society, it starts from the home,” he said.
Ololo stressed the importance of discipline in the upbringing of children, noting that the character of a child is a mirror of the kind of parenting received.
“Parents must instill discipline in their children. The society we complain about today is simply a reflection of the kind of homes we are raising. We need children who are respectful, obedient, and who understand and uphold the values of our society,” he added.
While congratulating fathers on their special day, the cleric urged them to spend more time at home, be involved in the lives of their children, and monitor the moral and spiritual atmosphere within their families.
“Many fathers are too detached from the home. Know what goes on in your house. Make corrections in love and raise your children to understand right from wrong. A well-organized home leads to a better organized society,” he advised.
Prophet Ololo also advocated for spiritual unity within families, urging fathers to ensure that every member of the household worships in the same church.
According to him, this promotes harmony and prevents the breakdown of family values.
“Let families stay together in faith. Worship together, pray together, and above all, forgive one another. A family that prays together stays together. When there is peace in the home, there will be no room for divorce, confusion, or external interference,” he said.
