
Schools in Ethiope West, both private and public schools have resumed in accordance with the resumption date for the 2025/2026 academy session.
Going round to monitor the turn up of students and teachers, it was discovered that teachers were in their various schools ready to perform their duties. While some students were already in school learning, others were yet to resume.
Speaking to our correspondent, the Head teacher of Ighoyota primary school, Mosogar, Mrs Patricia Edafeajdeke said the turn up of pupils was quite impressive on the first day of resumption compared to previous years. She said all her teachers were on the ground ready to carry out their duties.
Also at the Ogini model school, Oghara, it was discovered that all teachers resumed with few students on ground.
Pastor Salami, the school’s Bursar, noted that all teachers complied with the resumption date while few of the students came to school.
Salami, who frowned at the poor turn up of students, reiterated that it has become a norm for most students not to resume school on the first day of resumption.
While condemning the act of not resuming school on the first day of resumption, the Ogini Bursar advised parents to always prepare their children for resumption as teachers were always on ground to kick start activities.
It was observed in schools visited that the number of students who resumed school on the first day of resumption in private schools were more, compared to those in public schools.
