
The atmosphere was glamorous and classy with celebration of royalty and the unique culture of Ijaw tradition as His Royal Majesty, Monbene 111, Pere Ama – Okosu of Ogbe – Ijoh Warri Kingdom marked his 10th year Coronation Anniversary on the throne in a grand style.
The colourful ceremony took place on Monday 22nd September, 2025 at the Palace of the traditional headquarters, Ogbe – Ijoh main town in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State with the conferment of forty six (46) new chieftaincy titles to deserving sons and daughters of Ijaw Nation in recognition of their numerous contributions to the growth, development and peace of Ogbe – Ijoh Kingdom and the Ijaw Nation at large.
Presenting the chieftaincy beads to the recipients, HRM Monbene 111 appreciated the newly installed Chiefs for their good works for their Kingdom and the Ijaw Nation over the years, while urging them to continue in the same spirit, joining hands with the traditional council of Chief’s in promoting peace, bringing about development as well as administering justice and fairness in the Kingdom.
The ceremony is a celebration of God’s love and faithfulness in the life of the king and his people. It is an avenue to thank God and also showcase the rich culture, tradition and values of the people of Ogbe- ijoh Kingdom.
Various activities at the event were the different dance troupes, Comedian ‘FC story teller,’ who thrilled the crowd with his interesting fairy tales, Tug of war, Tiniwei and music by Ijaw popular singer, Barrister Smooth.
Among those conferred with chieftaincy titles were Mr and Mrs Boro Opudu, Mr and Mrs Adowei Benaibi, Mr Benjamin Ekeremo, Mr Francis Oyimi, Madam Queen Ajemutolu and a host of others.
Some dignitaries present at the occasion included the Chairman of Warri South West Local Government Area, Hon. Sylvester Oromoni and other Local Government Chairmen, Hon. Chief Favour Izoukumor, the Executive Director Social Services, DESOPADEC, Chiefs of the Palace, prominent sons and daughters of Ogbe – ijoh who came from within and the diaspora, Royal fathers, politicians, government officials and associations too numerous to mention.
Reacting to the development, one of the new Chiefs, Lucky Tetebo Seiseimor described the occasion as a time to thank God for all He has done for the community and also praying for long life for the King.
The weeklong Coronation ceremony continues with other activities lined up to make the ceremony grand and exciting.
