The Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics), Delta State University Abraka, Professor Hilary Owamah has been presented with a Meritorious Service Award.
Presenting the award to professor Owamah in Asaba, during a Public Lecture/ Annual General Meeting of Nigeria Society of Engineers Asaba branch, the NSE Chairman, Engr Ikechukwu Osunde FNSE, FNIEE, described him as a perfect gentleman that brought his wealth of experience to bear in the performance of his duties.
Engr Osunde said members of Nigeria Society of Engineers, Asaba branch took time to understudy the activities of Professor Owamah before the award was presented to him, adding that NSE award is given to only people that have contributed to human, national, global and engineering profession.
He said Professor Owamah, who is an engineer by profession, is a distinguished scholar and an accomplished administrator.
Engr Owamah, FNSE, FNICE, FNIEE, is an illustrious son of Delta State that has etched his name in burnished gold in both Nigeria academia and the engineering profession.
Professor Owamah, who spoke to newsmen shortly after receiving the award, thanked members of NSE Asaba branch for finding him worthy of the award.
He said the award would spur him to continue to work hard and equally contribute more to the human, national, global and the engineering profession.
