
The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Udu Local Government Branch, Comrade Johnbull Gbejegbe, has commended the Chairman of Udu Local Government Council, Hon. Vincent Oyibode, for his infrastructural initiatives and unwavering support to teachers in the area.
Comrade Gbejegbe praised Oyibode for embarking on the ongoing rigid pavement project along the ECN/Udu Road, describing it as a landmark intervention that will ease the burden of road users and residents while acknowledging the temporary traffic challenges, he stressed that the project reflects a visionary approach to sustainable infrastructure that will stand the test of time.
He also lauded the Council Chairman for providing two 18-seater buses to convey Udu teachers’ delegates to Asaba for the 2025 World Teachers’ Day celebration, held every 5th of October. According to him, the gesture demonstrates Oyibode’s genuine respect and appreciation for the teaching profession.
Furthermore, the NUT Chairman applauded the prompt payment of teachers’ salaries by the Council, noting that this has boosted staff morale and strengthened industrial harmony within the education sector.
Reaffirming the Union’s support for the Oyibode-led administration, Gbejegbe urged the Chairman to continue prioritizing education and human capital development as critical drivers of Udu’s progress.
