
Youths in the State have been called upon to join in defending the territorial integrity of the country by enrolling into the 90th Regular Recruitment Exercise for Trades/Non-Tradesmen and Women into the Nigeria Army.
The Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Dr. Kingsley Emu made the call today during a sensitization visit by the Sensitization Team of the Army Headquarters, Abuja, led by Brigadier General Patrick Alimikhena.
Dr. Emu noted that it was a thing of pride that soldiers of Delta origin could be called to defend the territorial integrity of the Nation adding that the Delta State Government had always and would always do all within its powers to ensure it meets its quota noting that the State could not afford to cede its quota out.
He said the State had set up structured synergies between traditional rulers, religious organizations, and Local Government Councils to improve sensitization in order to capture more youths and meet its required allocated quota.
Speaking also, the State Commissioner for Youth Development, Barr. Thankgod Trakiriowei appreciated the sensitization team for the visit. He informed the delegation that the State had also set up an enlistment committee to drive the registration process.
The leader of the delegation, Brigadier General Patrick Alimikhena, expressed the need for Deltans to join the Nigerian Army, saying it was an opportunity for Deltans to achieve their overall dreams in life.
He said the online registration for the 90th Regular Recruitment Exercise for Trades/Non Trades-Men and Women began on the 29th of September,2025, and will close on the 14th of November, 2025,while the recruitment exercise for shortlisted candidates will begin on 4th December,2025 and end on 17th December,2025 at the Cenotaph in Asaba.
