As part of concerted efforts to promote healthy nutritional habits among citizens, the Delta State Ministry of Agriculture, in collaboration with the Poultry Association of Nigeria, PAN, Delta State Chapter, shall be celebrating the 2025 World Egg Day at the Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba on Friday, 10th October, 2025 at 11 am.
In a Press Statement, the Commissioner for Agriculture, Barr. Val Arenyeka stated that the event would be dedicated to promoting the nutritional values of eggs and its importance in global diets. Stakeholders in poultry and egg production, including interested members of the public, are invited to participate.
The theme of this year’s celebration “The Mighty Egg: Packed with Natural Nutrition,” is apt as it seeks to promote the versatility of egg-based diets, promote egg consumption and its nutritional value, as well as support local production of eggs to boost the nutritional needs of individuals and families across the state.
It is of particular note that the state government, through its various farmers’ support programmes, continues to provide support for poultry farmers in the state through the provision of feed and other logistical support to help increase the production of eggs and meat protein for the nutritional benefit of Deltans.
