The Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Hon. Isaac Agbateyiniro, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to transforming the agricultural sector under the GRACE Agenda, as he called on investors and farmers to take advantage of emerging opportunities in the area.
Hon. Agbateyiniro made this known during his visit to the Warri South Farm Estate located at Orere-Uluba community in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State, on Saturday 8th of November 2025, where he inspected the ongoing agricultural projects aimed at boosting food production and creating job opportunities for residents.
He noted that the visit was part of his drive to ensure that agriculture becomes a sustainable means of livelihood and a key contributor to the local economy. He urged the Department of Agriculture to adopt modern and improved farming techniques to enhance productivity and reduce post-harvest losses.
According to him, “Warri South cannot rely solely on oil and commerce. We must return to the soil and make agriculture attractive, profitable, and technology-driven. I call on farmers, youth groups, and private investors to key into the vision and partner with the Local Government to make this dream a reality.”
The Warri South Farm Estate, which hosts various agricultural activities, including crop cultivation, livestock farming, and a training center with a film village, is expected to serve as a model for integrated agriculture in Delta State. The estate will produce and supply essential food products to Warri, its environs, and by extension, the entire state, he added
Also speaking during the visit, the Supervisor for Agriculture, Hon. Mofe Amiwe, encouraged interested farmers to visit the Agriculture Department at the Warri South Local Government Secretariat to obtain plots and participate in the ongoing agricultural programs.
He emphasized that the Farm Estate represents a long-term investment in food security, youth empowerment, and economic diversification.
