The Head of Service of Delta State Dr (Mrs) Mininim Oseji has advised the Management Staff of Delta State Agency for The Control Of HIV/AIDS to develop a strategic plan that would enable them identify activities of priority in the implementation of programmes for the Prevention and Reduction of HIV/AIDS in our Society.
The Head of Service gave the advice when Management Staff of the Agency paid her a courtesy visit in Asaba.
Expressing surprise at the report of increased infection amongst the elderly and young ones, the Head of Service encouraged them to regularly engage in outreach programs to promote prevention of HIV/ AIDS in the State.
Stating her displeasure at the report that “on the average, about 300 new infections spring up monthly in the Delta State,” Dr Oseji stressed the need to reach out to organizations for support, while structuring ways in which individual philanthropists can contribute financial resources for improved funding to the Agency for effective response in eliminating the Scourge.
She also advised them to collaborate with Humanitarian Services in the delivery of effective prevention measures.
The Head of Service pledged her support to partner with the Office in the area of Sensitization and promised to attend the flag off of the ” World AIDS Day” program in Asaba.
Earlier, the Executive Secretary of the Agency, Dr Rudolf Hubson, Commended the HOS for her passion and support for their programs and appealed that she partners with the Office as they flag off the World AIDS Day program.
He further appealed to other stakeholders in the State to be part of their activities which would include Road Walk, Advocacy, Radio Shows, Gingles, Content Creation, Candle Light Procession and Visits to Churches and Mosques.
UNDP Fellowship Project, Medical Women Association of Nigeria, National Identity Management Commission, Association of Hospital and Administrative pharmacists of Nigeria, Delta State College of Health Science and Technology and Law Officers Association of Nigeria were amongst those who paid Courtesy Visits to the Head of Service of Delta State.
