Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Ari Ali Mohammed has stated that communities, states and the nation at large would witness greater development if philanthropists and well-to-do individuals consistently contribute to the progress of their localities.
He made this remark during a civic reception held in Ogwashi-Uku, Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State, in honour of Chief Mrs. Yolanda Ndudi, who was recently conferred with the prestigious chieftaincy title of Onwanetilioha.
DIG Mohammed commended Chief Jude Ozah and his wife for their remarkable contributions to the development of Ogwashi-Uku kingdom, the state, and Nigeria. He described Chief Ozah’s efforts as monumental and worthy of emulation.
The senior Police officer recalled that during his tenure as Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, Chief Ozah donated several vehicles and other security equipment that strengthened the Police in combating crime across the state.
While congratulating Chief (Mrs.) Yolanda Ndudi (Ozah) on her new chieftaincy title, he said the honour was well deserved. He described Chief Ozah as an uncommon philanthropist committed to the welfare of others regardless of tribe, praying for God’s continued blessings on him and his family.
Also speaking, the Delta State Commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Halilu Hamidu, described Chief Ozah as a compassionate, humble and detribalised individual whose kind is rare.
Similarly, the Chairman of the Arewa Traditional Council in Aniocha South Local Government Area, Alhaji Zayyanu Abdukadir, praised Chief Ozah as a unifier and lover of peace. He said Chief Ozah remains one of the best things to have happened to Ogwashi-Uku kingdom, assuring continued peaceful coexistence with the host community.
Traditional rulers from Imo and Anambra states—including the Eze of Umuobom, Eze Ekenedilichukwu Obinali; the Igwe of Ojoto kingdom, Igwe Uzodimma Adiriki; Chief Emeka Obienu, the Ogodo of Oba; the Ezeagu of Okija; and Chief Nze Onyeka Wasley—also described Chief Ozah as a great son of Ogwashi-Uku and a blessing to his generation.
Speaking to journalists after the event, Chief (Dr.) Jude Ozah expressed gratitude to God for granting him the grace to contribute to the development of his community. He also appreciated the Obi of Ogwashi-Uku kingdom, Obi Ifechukwude Okonjo II, and all others who honoured his family with the chieftaincy title.
