The residents of Mosogar kingdom in Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State have commended the king of Mosogar kingdom,HRM Sunday Odogu Okpurhe, whom they said have done well as the king and has played a vita role that helped in facilitating the reconstruction of the old garage express road in Mosogar kingdom.
The Seplat Energy Plc has completed the reconstruction and tarring of the Old Garage Express Road in Mosogar Kingdom, a development residents say has significantly improved mobility and commercial activities in the area.
The road, which links the expressway to key parts of Mosogar, including the main market, had been in a dilapidated state for years, posing challenges to traders, motorists and residents.
Its reconstruction has eased traffic flow, reduced travel time and improved access to the community.
Residents who spoke with newsmen while applauding their King for his good leadership, commended Seplat Energy for the intervention, describing it as a timely response to a long standing infrastructure need.
Mr. Kingsley Ufuoma, praised the traditional institution for engaging stakeholders to attract development to the community. “We thank our king for his efforts and Seplat Energy for listening to the people. This road shows that when leaders engage companies properly, the community benefits,” he said.
Mr. Monday Efe, a commercial driver in Mosogar, said the road had caused frequent vehicle breakdowns before the reconstruction. “Before now, this road was terrible. Vehicles used to get damaged, especially during the rainy season. With this new road, our work has become easier and safer,” he said.
A trader at the Mosogar main market, Mrs. Blessing Okotie, noted that the project has boosted business activities. “Customers can now come to the market without fear. Transport fares have reduced, and goods arrive faster. We really appreciate Seplat Energy for this,” she said.
Several residents also expressed appreciation to the Ovie of Mosogar Kingdom, HRM Sunday Odogu Okpurhe, Uduaka I, whom they credited with providing leadership that helped facilitate the project through engagement with relevant partners.
The reconstructed road is expected to enhance economic activities, improve safety for road users and project and attracts development to the locality.
The Residents also expressed their optimism that more developmental projects would follow, particularly the rehabilitation of other internal roads within the kingdom.
