The Principal of Issele Uku Technical College, Issele Uku in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State, Mrs Caroline Ebida has commended the Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for his commitment to promoting sports activities in technical education schools across the state.
Mrs Ebida gave the commendation during the 49th Annual inter House sports Athletics competition which was held at the school sports ground in Issele Uku.
She said: “We must reflect on the spirit of competition that defines us; I wish to specifically thank the students of vocational/ ITC for their exceptionally active participation during our last inter house sports competition
The Principal added: “I must also give a special, heartfelt appreciation to the traditional Chiefs , Chief Victor Isiskwenemgbu, the Oza of Issele Uku, and Chief P. I. Osiegbu, the Ojugbana of Issele Uku kingdom, who recently donated an electric pumping machine to the school.”
Mrs Ebida affirmed that the college has made strides through the kind gesture of various groups.
“We have seen improvements in the provision of drawing instruments for our students, and we have successfully renovated the generator House for the college’s 50kva sound proof generator.”
She used the occasion to solicit for further support to meet some other critical needs of the college such as security personnel, equipment, solar-powered borehole and water infrastructure, electricity and power solutions, as well as staff welfare .
Earlier in his remarks , the Chairman of the occasion Mr Jude Igwebuike commended the principal and staff who worked tirelessly for the success of the competition, and praised the commitments of the parents for their continued support to their children ‘s academic advancement and also in field events.
