The Kano State Hisba Board has arrested 22 persons including the Manager of Stephrica Guest Palace at Kureken Sani in the Kumbotso Local Government Area of the state.
The arrest of the suspects followed a raid at the hotel on Wednesday.
The Deputy Commandant of the board, Dr. Mujahid Aminudeen, confirmed the arrest of the suspects in a WhatsApp message to PUNCH Metro on Thursday.
He said the suspects, who comprised 10 males and 11 females, were apprehended during an operation following a tip-off.
“The suspects were arrested following an intelligence report from some Good Samaritans that they were in the hotel enjoying themselves.
“Regrettably, all 21 persons are underaged whose ages are between 12, 17 and 19. We are using this opportunity to warn hotel owners to desist from allowing teenagers access to their facilities or face sanction.
He warned that the board will not fold its arms and allow people to engage in acts that violate the Shari’a, urging residents not to relent in reporting such people.
Aminudeen, who declined to disclose the name of the hotel manager, said all the suspects would be charged to court as soon as the ongoing investigation was concluded to “reap what they sow.”
The hotel manager and other suspects will be arraigned tomorrow (Friday) to reap what they sow,” he added.
