The Delta State Fire and Rescue Service, Warri Fire Station Division, has successfully responded to a fire outbreak involving shops at Ojabugbe Junction along Okumagba Avenue in Warri-South Local Government Area.
According to the report, the distress call was received at about 14:00 hours, prompting immediate action from firefighters who turned out by 14:01 hours to the scene of the incident.
The fire crew arrived at the location at approximately 14:45 hours and commenced firefighting operations to contain the blaze and prevent further spread to adjoining properties.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the fire was caused by sparks from solar batteries and inverter systems within the affected shops.
Fortunately, no casualties were recorded during the incident.
The operation was supervised and reported by DCF Egbenuba K. Video and picture evidence of the incident were also obtained for official documentation and further investigation.
The Delta State Fire and Rescue Service has advised residents and business owners to ensure proper handling and maintenance of solar power systems and electrical installations to prevent future fire outbreaks.
