The Delta State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Community and Social Development, Princess Pat Ajudua, who was recently mandated by the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, to oversee the activities of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Community Support Services and Girl-Child Development, officially assumed duty today in Asaba, the state capital.
In her address, Princess Ajudua urged staff to display a high level of commitment and dedication to duty in order to deliver on the core mandate of the state government’s _Renewed Hope for MORE_ agenda.
She stated that her coming to the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Community Support Services and Girl-Child Development is to continue the good work of her predecessor, Ms. Orode Uduaghan whom she described as a vibrant and hard working lady.
“As you all know, the news broke out last week and I said I must report today so that we can know ourselves. Then you can brief me on what’s on ground so that we can take it up from there.
I am here to work with you. I have not come to harass or intimidate anybody. It’s for us to cooperate and work together to achieve results,” she added.
The Commissioner also commended the management and staff of the ministry for implementing people-oriented programmes in the state.
In his remarks, the Functioning Permanent Secretary, Sir Stanley Rapu, expressed the ministry’s delight and readiness to work with the Commissioner. Sir Rapu explained the ministry’s core mandates to the newly appointed Commissioner, Princess Pat Ajudua.
In his vote of thanks, Mr. Lucky Nkemachor, Director of Planning, Research and Statistics, said the staff felt tremendous joy over the appointment of the Commissioner and added that everyone is ready to contribute their quota for the good of the ministry and Delta State in general.
