Elon Musk: To All Complainers, Please Continue Complaining, But It Will Cost $8
Since taking over as the owner of the bird app, Twitter, the world’s richest man Elon Musk is implementing his own ideas and plans on how he intends to run Twitter. Recently he came out to say that people will pay money monthly to maintain their “blue check”.
His reason is that Twitter needs another stream of revenue and wouldn’t be depending on money from advertisers.
This has caused mixed feelings among users on the platform. Some think that he should come down on the price, like Adewale Adetona who tweeted that –
"Elon, I know you’re a man of the people and also reckon with the fact that you want to open up a new revenue stream for Twitter, but let’s close this thing at $4.99 per month. Thanks!"
Others like Abdullah H. Mohammad are asking what will be features of it –
"I think it’s a responsible decision to protect the content and reduce the fake accounts, but what the features will come for paying $8 monthly? , is it possible to add live streaming between more than one person like TikTok?"
While people like Rishabh Singh have this to say –
"Those who only want to have fun and make nasty comments will, because there is a cost involved, reduce their activity to some level. It will not bring such accounts down to zero, but things will be better to some extent as a result of this change."
This Twitter user, Algod has made up his mind to go full-time on TikTok if that happens.
