
The Newly elected Students leaders of Alex Ekwueme University, AE FUNAI SUG, today lauded the efforts of the Vice Chancellor; Professor Sunday Oge Elom for allowing free, fair and peaceful union elections.
The New Excos led by Comrade Anukenyi Peter gave the recommendation during the inaugural ceremony of the fourth Assembly in the VCs Conference Room in Ikwo on Monday.
“I heartily thank our father, the amiable Vice Chancellor,and the university management and all other relevant stakeholders for keeping to their promise and being able to give the students the opportunity to choose their leaders through a democratic election despite the costs”

Comrade Anukenyi noted that, “Not only that the election was a peaceful, fair and transparent election , the neutrality demonstrated at the polls by the members of the electoral committee further cemented the statement of the Vice Chancellor that he had no preferred aspirant and as a result would not interfere in the whole processes. Therefore, accept my appreciation in no small measure”
He pleaded with the University management to at all times give in their support to the Union to maintain the standing relationship existing between the union and the management.
“We implore the Vice Chancellor and the management and other relevant stakeholders at large,to extend the same umbrella of support, rapport and relationship that have been existing with the past Students’ Union administrations to our new,set to start administration”
According to Comrade Anukenyi while recounting on his mandate to AE FUNAI Students stated that ” I will continue to serve you as your servant-leader,in absolute humility and devotion to your needs and desires and will appropriate your resources to improve your living condition,and protect the rights and welfare of our students so we too, can be as well productive and fulfilled in our aspirations as our counterparts in other prestigious higher institutions of learning and research”.
The Vice Chancellor charged the Newly elected executive to meticulously handle their different offices for the interest of the student community on whose Mandate they were elected. He also expressed readiness to always Open the hands of partnership with the union.
