Mohammed Salah suffers backlash from the Muslim community for celebrating Christmas again this year with his family.
The Egyptian footballer who plays for Liverpool FC in England posted a photo of him, his wife and children on Instagram wishing Christians a #merrychristmas.
Since then, his post has received thousands of negative comments of which many are from the Muslim community.
Multiple Egyptian Muslims and Muslims around the world have expressed their dissatisfaction towards the post and some are even disowning him and says he’s not their Muslim brother because a true Muslim “doesn’t celebrate Christmas.”
This is not the first time seeing Mohamed Salah celebrating Christmas with his family, it’s the fourth year in a row celebrating Christmas.
We are all humans and we should live as one irrespective of our religious backgrounds. No religion is bigger and older than humanity, thus we must not allow religion to divide us. There is nothing wrong seeing a Muslim celebrating Christmas and a Christian celebrating Eid.
