The Ibada-Elume community in Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State has embarked on a massive grading and reopening of earth roads, bringing relief to residents who have long suffered from poor road conditions.
Led by the community Chairman, Mr. Friday Omerhiowan and his executive members, the community has taken matters into its own hands to improve the driving conditions and enable residents to access their homes and farmlands.
The welfare and well-being of residents are top priorities for Mr. Omerhiowan and his team. “We are committed to ensuring that our people have access to good roads, healthcare, education, and other basic amenities,” he emphasized. Omerhiowan also seized the opportunity to call on Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, to assist in the construction of various roads in the community.
Several roads have been graded, including Osita Road, which links to Eku Road, Community Road, Ogamagbe Road, which links to NDDC Road in Sapele, Health Centre Road, and Community Townhall Road, among others. Residents have expressed their gratitude to the community executives for the initiative.
Mr. Bright Omene, a resident, expressed his surprise and delight at seeing the excavator grading the roads. “The roads were very narrow and difficult to pass, especially during the rainy season. We are grateful to the Friday Omerhiowan-led exco for this great job. We now have easy access to our homes and farmlands,” he said. Omene also appealed to Governor Oborevwori to help construct the graded roads.
Another resident, Sunday Onogbedefe, praised the community executives for the project. “We are all happy about it. The whole place looks bright and smooth for easy access. We don’t want this project to end like this. We are pleading with our award-winning Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, and the Chairman of Sapele LGA, Hon. Bright Abeke, to help construct the various graded roads in Ibada-Elumecommunity.”
The Ibada-Elume community, led by Mr. Friday Omerhiowan has demonstrated its commitment to development and the well-being of its residents. With the support of the state government, the community hopes to achieve its goal of providing good roads and other basic amenities to its people.
