In a remarkable event in Asaba, Delta State, High Chief Stanley Obodoagwu, founder of The Lightgivers Foundation and Publisher of AAMagazine, hosted students who achieved outstanding scores in the recently concluded 2025 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination. The event took place at Chief Obodoagwu’s palatial mansion in Okpanam, where the philanthropist pledged to cover the students’ university tuition, accommodation, and other expenses to ensure a seamless tertiary education.
One beneficiary, Miss Nwafor Precious Ezichi, a student of Abbot Girls Secondary School, Ihiala, Anambra State, scored an impressive 314 in the 2025 JAMB results. Miss Ezichi, who applied to study Law at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, shared that she comes from a low-income background. She credited the scholarship from The Lightgivers Foundation, which she has received for the past three years, for supporting her through secondary education. She expressed deep gratitude to High Chief Obodoagwu for his support.
Another beneficiary, Miss Ele Hanah, who scored 274 in the JAMB exam, also thanked The Lightgivers Foundation for funding her secondary education. She prayed for continued blessings for High Chief Obodoagwu in all his endeavors.
The scholarships were facilitated by Dr. (Mrs.) Sabina Chukwunedum, former Principal of Abbot Girls Secondary School, Ihiala, whose dedication to her students’ success has been instrumental.
During the event, Dr. Chukwunedum expressed joy at the impact of High Chief Obodoagwu’s efforts through The Lightgivers Foundation, which provides indigent students with stress-free educational opportunities. She urged the students to remain focused on their studies to become worthy ambassadors of their school and the foundation.
In his address, High Chief Obodoagwu expressed delight at the students’ performance, emphasizing that his philanthropy is driven by a love for humanity and a desire to give back to society. He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the students’ education through university.
In 2023, The Lightgivers Foundation awarded scholarships to ten students from Abbot Girls Secondary School, Ihiala, covering their education up to the university level. The selection process involved an examination for indigent students, with the top ten candidates receiving scholarships worth tens of millions of naira.
The Lightgivers Humanitarian Foundation, established in 2019 by High Chief Obodoagwu, is a charity organization dedicated to promoting love, saving lives, improving global health, mentoring youths, and alleviating poverty. Through the foundation, he has funded community projects, provided scholarships for indigent students from primary to tertiary levels, offered shelter to homeless families, and supported free healthcare initiatives. The foundation collaborates with other civil society and human rights organizations to enhance community development and improve living conditions through consistent philanthropy.
