The remains of Madam Mabedagbere Jennifer Gold, beloved mother of the Honourable Commissioner for Housing and Youth Development, Hon. GodknowsAngele, were laid to rest today at her hometown of Torogbene in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State.
Madam Mabedagbere Jennifer Gold, who lived a remarkable life spanning 114 years, was celebrated by family members, friends, associates, community leaders, government officials, and well-wishers who gathered to pay their final respects and honour her enduring legacy.
Representing the Delta State Ministry of Youth Development at the funeral ceremony were the Functioning Permanent Secretary, Mr. Emmanuel Emuakpeje, and the Director of Youth Mobilization and Leadership, Mrs. Peace Okonye, who led members of staff of the ministry to sympathize with the Honourable Commissioner and his family during the solemn occasion.
Also present from the youth development sector was the Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Comrade Milton Sagboje, alongside other dignitaries who came to celebrate the life and times of the departed matriarch.
Hon. Godknows Angele paid glowing tribute to his late mother, describing her as “the best mother in the world.” He recalled her unwavering love, care, sacrifices, and dedication to her children throughout her lifetime.
The funeral service provided an opportunity for family members and well-wishers to reflect on the remarkable life of Madam Mabedagbere Jennifer Gold, whose longevity, wisdom, and commitment to family earned her admiration within and beyond her community.
As the family bids farewell to their beloved matriarch, prayers were offered for the peaceful repose of her soul and for God’s comfort upon all those she left behind.
