A 50-year-old woman, Olushola Olonode, has narrated how she gave birth to two boys and two girls after doctors gave her conflicting reports about the number of babies she was carrying.
She shared her testimony during a thanksgiving service at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Solid Rock Parish, Ojodu Berger, Lagos.
A clip of the testimony was shared by the parish on YouTube on Monday.
“My name is Olushola Olonode. I used to be Olushola Adeniji for 48 years,” she told the congregation, adding that she got married on December 12, 2023, after a long wait.
I will never forget all the services we used to have here. I’ll make sure I’ll come, I’ll attend.
“So, I got married, and before then I’ve always said it. Since I’ve waited this way, I don’t want to wait twice.
“Let me do all the waiting together. I’ve waited for a husband, I don’t want to wait for children,” she said, explaining her decision to conceive soon after her wedding.
She said she conceived the following year and went for her first scan, where a doctor identified as Ibrahim said, “I think I can see twins.”
Olonode said she told her husband, “Even if it is one, they will stop calling me Mummy Shola.”
She said a second scan, conducted by a different doctor, produced a different figure.
“He said, I think I’m seeing three. I said, no. Dr Ibrahim told me he saw two,” she recalled. “He said, well, what I’m seeing is three.”
On a subsequent visit, she returned to the same doctor who had mentioned three.
He said, how many did I tell you I saw? I said, you said three,” she recounted.
She said she had, before then, experienced a bleeding scare and feared she may have lost one or two of the babies.
He said, how many did I tell you I saw? I said, you said three. He said, I think I’m seeing four. I said four. So, I told my husband, I said, I’m not coming back.
“Maybe I’ll not see five. I’m serious. The first time, twins. The second time, three. The fourth time, so I refused to go back.
“To the glory of God, on 6th of March, 2026, I gave birth to two boys and two girls,” she announced to the congregation.
“The truth of the testimony is that I had them three weeks to my 50th,” she said, noting that she clocked 50 on March 31, 2026.
She narrated how her aunt, who has several sets of twins in her family, reacted on hearing the news via a phone call from her husband.
“She said, I don’t want twins again. I want three,” Olonode quoted her aunt as saying, before being corrected on the actual number.
“He said, four? Oh, they’re here. They’re at the back there,” she said, recounting her husband’s response.
Olonode rounded off her testimony with a note of gratitude.
“I want to thank God for sparing my life. The living was not brought out of the dead. And the dead was not brought out of the living,” she said.
