Following the on-going massive rehabilitation of the Effurun Roundabout in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State, the entrance to Delta Mall, also referred to as Shoprite, has been temporarily closed to enable construction workers to have proper access to the area under construction.
The shopping mall is now being accessed from the alternate entrance on Refinery Road. This development has also displaced the commercial bus (kpelegbe) park located close to the said ShopRite entrance as operators of the commercial buses have relocated to the opposite side of the road.
While there is an on-going construction of a massive drainage project in the vicinity, the Delta State Government is also constructing a pedestrian bridge that would reduce human traffic on the expressway as well as ensure the safety of pedestrians moving from one part of the road to the other.
Speaking to our correspondents, residents and motorists who ply the route commended Delta State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori for the positive development, stressing that the expansion of the road would significantly reduce travel time on that axis of the ever-busy Effurun/Sapele and NPA Expressway, Road as well as reduce traffic gridlocks that had made travelling through that axis a nightmare.
