
The Police order for people to remain in their homes has now been stretched to the town of Bowdoin, which is almost 30 minutes away from Lewiston, Maine, United States.
The order came as a result of a number of causalities due to the shooting incident that occurred at multiple locations in Lewiston.
Meanwhile, the police have identified Robert R. Card as the prime suspect and urged residents to be on the lookout for him as he is armed and dangerous.
In a tweet, the Maine state police said they were expanding the shelter in place advisory and school closing to include the town of Bowdoin, adding that over 100 investigators are in search of the main suspect, Robert Card.
According to reports, the shootings started at a restaurant and a bowling alley on Wednesday at 18:56 local time.
Authorities are yet to confirm the number of casualties, but newsmen who spoke to multiple law enforcement officials, put the number at 16 deaths with a minimum of 50 people injured.
An eye witness and mother who was spending her leisure with her family, said she laid on top of her 11-year-old daughter, to protect her.
